Accountant

Austin, TX

Role Summary:

This position will have primary responsibilities for Accounts Payable data entry and related activities, alongside a range of General Ledger activities in support of the Finance and Accounting functions, including but not limited to data entry and tracking of New Construction/Development Actual spend in separate tools and systems. Reporting to the Sr. Accounting Team Leader, this position will support the efforts to conduct month-end close activities, produce periodic financial reports, and maintain an accounting system and relevant records.


THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN AUSTIN, TX.


  • Responsibilities:Facilitate payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, requesting W-9 information, reviewing purchase orders, accurately booking with general ledger account codes, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
  • Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  • Bridges general ledger payment activity to separate construction project tracking tools and software.
  • May assist the Finance, Accounting, and Human Resource functions in payroll and related activities.
  • Support the Sr. Accounting Team Leader in preparation of accurate and timely monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support the Finance and Accounting team with reporting preparation and generation.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of related and relevant experience
  • Proven experience working in a startup, or similar environment
  • Experience in a multi-unit industry and restaurant accounting experience a plus


  • Software skills:
  • Must be comfortable learning, working with and pivoting between various platforms and applications
  • Basic/working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite, ADP and Bill.com a plus.
  • Experience in POS systems preferably Toast, payroll software such as ADP, Justworks PEO, Toast Payroll or similar, and other third-party platforms a plus.
