Austin Water is currently hiring for the following positions: Austin Water Operations & Maintenance Superintendent (Ullrich Water Treatment Plant)

Full/Part Time: Full-Time

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the management and operation of industrial facilities related to the position, including three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the management and operation of a water treatment plant, multi-zone water distribution system, wastewater treatment plant, or wastewater collection system, including two (2) years of experience which were in a supervisory or management capacity.

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the management and operation of industrial facilities related to the position, including seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the management and operation of a water treatment plant, multi-zone distribution system, wastewater treatment plant, or wastewater collection system , including two (2) years of experience which were in a supervisory or management capacity.

Licenses or Certifications:

Water Treatment Plant Operations: TCEQ Class B Surface Water License or higher.

Water Distribution Systems Facility: TCEQ Class B Surface Water License, Class B Water Distribution License or Class B Groundwater License or higher.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations: TCEQ Class B Wastewater License or higher.

Wastewater Collection Systems Facility: TCEQ Class B Wastewater License or Class III Collections License or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing effective leadership to indirect and direct reports across multiple shifts in a 24-7 operation.
Experience using performance measures to facilitate strategic planning and goal setting.
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience in planning, organizing and working with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities and collaborating effectively with other departments or units within an organization to meet business objectives.
Experience in construction, maintenance, and design of water treatment or distribution system facilities.
Experience in business writing/editing and developing professional correspondence in a variety of formats.
Experience with purchasing, contract monitoring/management and budget monitoring/management.
Experience using related software such as Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, computerized maintenance management systems, and financial programs (i.e., e-Capris, e-Combs, Works, etc.).
TCEQ Class A Water Operator license.
Ability to travel to more than one work location.
