As a Bus driver, you safely transport children and staff to and from designated field trip sites. You will maintain vehicles as required by the Texas Department of Transportation and other governmental agencies to include pre-trip maintenance checks, regular scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and cleaning. You will complete minor repairs that do not require service by a certified maintenance mechanic and ensure vehicles are secured in the motor pool at the end of the day. You maintain the supplies required to keep the vehicle operating properly. All drivers must obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Region XIII Bus Driver Training.

 What are the details?

  • Must have a CDL class B driver’s license with P and S endorsements.
  • Provide a complete 10-year driving record with "eligible" status and maintain eligibility (to be verified annually);
  • Experience in vehicle and maintenance;
  • Good communication and organizational skills;
  • Flexible attitude to meet company needs;
  • Acceptable results of pre-employment drug testing and DOT physical required; 
  • Ability to move 50 pounds. 
  • Complete all other job duties assigned

What you bring to the Purpose:

  • Education and Experience: You are a minimum age of 21 years old and have a High School Diploma or GED. You have experience in transporting children for a school district, daycare, or afterschool program.

  • You are organized and productive. You are organized, able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments.
  • You are a strong communicator. You listen for understanding and meaning. You speak and write effectively.

  • Availability: You have the availability to work between the hours of 7:00 am - 6: 30pm, Monday through Friday. 

 

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
