Sente Mortgage

The part-time Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the Controller with the daily accounting and compliance operations of Sente Mortgage. The position will contribute to the financial success of our company by analyzing financial information and maintaining complete and accurate records of accounts while adhering to the strict standards of our organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounts payable tasks including:
• code payables to proper general ledger account with correct bill date
• review invoices thoroughly to ensure they are in accordance with contracts/work orders and that any prior balances are accurate
• obtain and attach department manager approval
• enter data into Loan Vision vendor module
• Process weekly check run and ensure all invoices are paid timely
• Save invoices and back up, submit for signatures, scan a copy for our records, mail and file electronic copies in A/P files
• Respond to urgent check requests and prioritize payments as needed
• Appraisal expense review and update in Encompass
• Set up new vendor accounts, including obtaining W-9, maintain W-9 electronic files & update W-9 info in Loan Vision vendor module. This is necessary for 1099 processing at year-end
• Set up and maintain accounts payable files
• Handle daily deposits of borrower payments, title and appraisal checks
• Run credit card transactions
• Audit and process American Express and Citi credit card activity
• Process employee expense reports
• Manage all accounts receivable collections
• Post loan payments received from borrowers and title receivables in our accounting system
• Respond to vendor and borrower inquiries as needed
• Review and maintain record of all new and existing contracts and agreements
• Maintain fixed asset & deferred rent schedules
• Assist with audit and special projects as needed
• May perform additional administrative tasks such as documenting processes, file management, expense reconciliation, scheduling and reporting

Required Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

The part-time position is 20 hours per week and will be on site at our office at 4520 Burnet Road, Austin, TX 78756.
