Conservation Program Supervisor

Austin, TX

Position Overview:

The Conservation Program Supervisor for Customer Programs will be responsible for leading a team in providing conservation incentive services to Austin Water customers in order to save water in both average and peak-use times. The individual will oversee both the promotion, administration, and continuous improvement of the incentive programs. Promotion of such programs will involve working through various communication methods, media platforms, and the MyATX Water portal, in cooperation with other Austin Water program areas.


Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Equivalent Experience: 

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Architecture, Business, Environmental Studies, Natural Science, Planning, Resource Management, or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of related experience, including two (2) years of experience which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Graduation with a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience of up to two (2) years.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.


Licenses and Certifications Required:

None.

Preferred Qualifications

 QualificationsPreferred Experience: 


  • Experience leading teams or programs related to water conservation or management
  • Experience with marketing or outreach efforts for incentive or membership programs
  • Experience utilizing advance metering infrastructure (AMI) in the development or implementation of water conservation programs
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location



Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

  1. Develops, revises, and implements standard operating practices, policies, and procedures for the section/division.
  2. Determines goals, objectives, and resource requirements for activities within the division.
  3. Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates educational or outreach programs that promote energy, water, or natural resource utility conservation awareness and initiatives.
  4. Monitors and evaluates program and policy effectiveness and implements improvement strategies.
  5. Research utility energy, water, or natural resource conservation policies, best practices, and legislation to recommend changes to conservation initiatives.
  6. Coordinates division activities with other divisions and departments.
  7. Develops and implements multiple cross-functional, large projects, initiatives, and teams.
  8. Coordinates and collaborates with multiple stakeholders involved in or affected by programs or policy.
  9. Effectively communicates the section’s activities to internal and external customers.


Responsibilities- Supervision and/or Leadership Exercised:

Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.


Pay Range

$34.86 – $44.45


Hours

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday with limited flexibility. Other hours as business needs require.
