We are looking for a detailed-oriented individual to join our clean and care team! As a Custodial Staff member, you are the leader in keeping branch cleanliness and safety. You will ensure detailed cleaning and sanitation of the facility and common areas are successfully performed following standard procedures. This position reports to the Program Coordinator. This is a part-time role based out of the Southwest YMCA Branch.

What are the details?

  • You maintain the branch’s cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency and prioritization (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc).
  • You communicate maintenance needs, issues, and recommend solutions to branch directors.
  • You perform routine inspections and maintenance checks of the facilities as a means of preventative maintenance.
  • You ensure the fulfillment of goods in designated areas, such as paper towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
  • You empty and clean wastebaskets throughout the branch.
  • You arrange equipment in the custodial storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
  • You work closely with the Y Safety Champion and Care Area Marshal to develop intense cleaning and disinfecting protocol in closed-off areas. 
  • You are familiar with the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • You may be requested to come to work outside of normally scheduled hours.
  • You complete other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, squat, climb ladders, and occasionally lift and/or move equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform essential functions.

 

What you bring to the Purpose:

  • Education and Experience: You are a minimum of 18-yrs old and have a high school diploma or GED. Having experience in custodial or maintenance work setting is a plus but not required. We will ensure you have the knowledge and resources to be successful in this role.

Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour
