IT Database Administrator or IT Database Administrator Senior

This position will be filled at the IT Database Administrator or IT Database Administrator Senior level, depending upon qualifications.

IT Database Administrator level:

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

Create databases and database objects, such as tables, indexes, views, triggers, and stored procedures
Load databases, reorganize as necessary, and assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving operational and performance related database issues
Execute the procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures
Configure and implement database network connectivity working with the required technical teams
Ensure data integrity, and data security
Maintain data standards, prepare and develop database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries
Create test database environment for applications section, including the creation of necessary libraries and procedures
Assist with the installation of database software and with analyzing, designing, and implementing databases
Assist with designing and maintaining database structures
Assist in developing and implementing standards

Knowledge of Oracle and SQLServer database tools, environments and query languages (SQL, TSQL)
Skill in developing reports and cross references from the data dictionary
Skill in data modeling
Skill database debugging, testing and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to write Extraction, Transform and Load (ETL) or SSIS tasks for the Extraction, Transformation or Loading (ETL) process
Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts
Ability to perform a root cause analysis
Ability to assess future information needs so that the databases can evolve in an appropriate manner
Ability to accurately identify/determine customer needs and take appropriate actions and/or steps to address identified needs

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus two (2) years of experience in a related field. Experience may substitute for education for up to four (4) years

IT Database Administrator Senior level:

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

Design, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve advanced operational and performance related database issues, coordinate changes, and maintain database structures, and assist in developing policies and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment
Design, coordinate, implement, and determine procedures necessary to save and recover production databases, and to recover databases from hardware and software failure
Perform database performance monitoring and auditing, implement efficiency improvements, and modify existing databases and database management systems
Design, configure and implement database network connectivity working with required technical teams.
Monitor capacity versus utilization and recommends appropriate action on a timely basis to avoid performance degradation
Create databases and database objects, such as tables, indexes, views, triggers, and stored procedures
Track database assets and critical information about those assets
Assist in development of data security standards to ensure data integrity data security
Maintain data standards, prepare and develop database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries
Create test database environment for applications section, including the creation of necessary libraries and procedures
Install new software releases and/or upgrades including researching, testing and implementing new technology

Preferred Qualifications - Both Levels:

Demonstrated Experience supporting and administering Windows Servers, Active Directory, Web Servers IIS and Apache, Systems integrations
MS SQL server database administration, development and support of complex SQL queries
Experience using backup software like Rubrik or comparable and performing restore tasks
Demonstrated experience with .Net (C#, VB.Net)
Ability to write Extraction, Transform and Load (ETL) or SSIS tasks for the Extraction, Transformation or Loading (ETL) process
Experience supporting reporting solutions such as Actuate, Cognos, Power BI.
Ability to travel to more than one work location.
