OVERVIEW: Help drive compelling product launches for a global leader in LEDs for the Horticulture industry

LOCATION: remote, but Austin-based candidates preferred

COMPENSATION: Based on 7-9 years of experience.

HOURS/DURATION: This is a full-time ongoing Liaison position which may at some point convert to client-side employment.


Join our team as Product Marketing Manager for our growing client, a leader in agricultural LED lighting technology. You will work with a small team consisting of a digital marketing manager, graphic designer, and external creative agencies. You'll develop and executive go-to-market strategies in support of achieving continuous revenue growth and meeting company business objectives. This role is the glue that binds our client's product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing and to achieve results. You will be the product evangelist and will play an integral role in organizing product launches. Work can be done remotely, but this team is based in the Austin, TX area with occasional in-person meetings expected, so local candidates are preferred.


  • Own and plan the market launch process for net-new products and of existing products. Manage the cross- functional implementation of the plan
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with the client's target buyer personas
  • Develop and execute new products' market launch plan with compelling product positioning and market messaging. Work with Technical Marketing to develop product literature, sales tools, online and printed marketing collateral for each launch
  • Develop, own, define and execute the go to marketing strategy
  • Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it. Create presentations and sales training materials that clearly articulate value propositions; work with Technical Marketing to build product and application demonstrations
  • Provide frequent product trainings to sales and resellers
  • Support sales to win key customer programs
  • Monitor and report on the performance of products in the market
  • Conduct win/loss interviews and perform ongoing analysis to determine the level of customer product adoption and provide feedback to engineering
  • Work cross-functionally to manage the go to market strategy of the the product life cycle in market, including product changes and line extensions, product upgrade phasing in and out, EOL plan and execution.
  • Ensure smooth transitions in market by ensuring alignment of internal actions and training/working with sales and customer service proactively
  • Work closely with sales, business development and horticulture services to gain deep understanding of the assigned market segment, applications and customer base, identify key opportunities, collect market and customer requirements, compile voice of customers for product roadmap and business services
  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned. Work with market intelligence, sales operations, and business development to identify market and technology trends, define market sizing, conduct competitive analysis and develop battlecards. Work with internal stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term segment business plans
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes
  • Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support externally, including speaking engagements and written works
  • Lead the marketing effort in defining product showcase strategies for tradeshows and customer events of the year. Collaborate with marcom and event teams to execute the above strategies with PR activities in sync with new product market launches


How to be a top candidate for this job:

  • 7+ years of hands-on product marketing experience, including some combinatinon of Product Marketing, Product Manager, Technical Marketing, Channel Marketing
  • Experience specifically with horticulture, lighting products, horticulture lighting or commercial lighting preferred
  • 2+ years with experience in direct, retail and channel marketing. Sales experience or sales support experience is a plus
  • Master's/Bachelor's in Engineering, Marketing, or Business Management, MBA is a plus
  • Willing and able to travel nationally and internationally - most likely need is 1-3 international trade shows a year you, 3-5 trade shows, and 2-3 customer visits per year
  • Work can be done remotely, but this team is based in the Austin, TX area with occasional in-person meetings expected, so local candidates are preferred
