SOFTWARE R&D PROJECT MANAGER - US

The Software R&D Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

 

·Lead software projects as a Scrum Master

·Lead and coordinate on-market software maintenance projects to ensure the successful development and timely commercial launch of Luminex software updates

·Represent the software team in cross-functional project meetings

·Ensure adherence of software development to Luminex Product Development process and the Quality Manual

·Support timely and accurate release of software project documentation through the DCO and ECO processes

·Work collaboratively with Product Management and Project Management to prioritize project deliverables and obtain resources as needed from Engineering Management

·Be an individual contributor on projects as needed as to ensure projectdocumentation is complete



Key Responsibilities & Duties:


·Lead software sprint planning, backlog grooming, standup, demo and standup meetings

·Meet regularly with Product Marketing to review progress, set priorities, negotiate features as needed to achieve design inputs and business goals

·Work with the project managers to ensure the required documentation is created, maintained and released according to the project schedule. This will include originating and submitting ECOs, BOM development, and coordinating the work of the project team to have project documentation created, developed and released in a timely manner.

 ·Manage the progress of assigned software project(s) to ensure that key deliverables are achieved, aligned with Assay and Hardware development needs and schedule, negotiate schedules as required to achieve project gates and launch schedules

·Identify potential schedule challenges early such that corrective action plans can be quickly formulated to prevent schedule slippage; facilitate communication between Software R&D team members and other Luminex functional groups; understand the most important product features for our customers to negotiate priority

·Communicate effectively and regularly with Software Management on schedule and team progress

·Be an impactful Scrum Master, motivating the team while continuously looking to improve the Scrum process and product quality.

·Work with hardware and assay R&D to assimilate other product development groups into an overall integrated Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

·Other duties as assigned.



Education and Experience:


·Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (CS or EE preferred) and at least 3 years of related experience in software development

·Previous experience developing products as a team member within an Agile Software Development Life Cycle

·Previous experience as a team member in a regulated R&D or medical device development project is preferred



Training, Skills and Certifications/Licenses:


·Scrum Master training is preferred

·Ability to obtain a strong knowledge of all Luminex Product Development Procedures, ISO and FDA compliance

·Strong organizational skills required for collaboration with multiple groups and project management

·Self-starter and team player, with excellent work ethics and high quality standards

·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills

·Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision



Work Conditions:

 

·Must work at Luminex office at least 90% of the time

·Travel expected(domestic) may be required less than 5% of the time

·Ability to handle pressure of meeting deadline

·Work is normally performed in a typical office environment and engineering lab environment

·Frequent work in high stress environment in direct contact with others

·Physical Demands: All positions require standing, stooping, bending, climbing, sitting, kneeling, and lifting of at least 10 lbs. Repetitive motion: Use of computer equipment
