DSD is seeking a Supervising Engineer to oversee a diverse, multi-disciplinary work group including varying knowledge perspectives with highly-developed management skills including conflict resolution, constructive feedback composition and delivery, team building, and positive, inclusive communication.
This position will also
-manage, coordinate, implement, and/or monitor General Permit, Capital Improvement Permitting and Transportation Engineering’s projects/programs with duties including plan and development proposal review for constructability and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements/ registered accessibility issues and oversee regulatory and inspection compliance assurance.
-lead cross-departmental collaboration and resolution of variety of technical issues with high-level problem solving skills to uncover challenges and inefficiencies, determine root cause(s); identify, prioritize, and select solutions as well as alternatives solutions and contingency plans; build group consensus for solutions, and implement solutions.
-provide technical advice and direction regarding the General Permit, Capital Improvement Permitting and Transportation Engineering work groups to staff members and internal and external stakeholders.
-recommend revisions and permit requirements for General Permit, Capital Improvement Permitting and Transportation Engineering work groups to mitigate negative impacts of development and confirm plans meet City policies.
-develop, manage, and/or monitor the budget of the General Permit, Capital Improvement Permitting Team and Transportation Engineering work groups.
-assist in developing, managing, and submitting proposed budget forecasts planning for short- and long-term City planning.
-develop and implement standard operating procedures and policies by applying advanced technical knowledge and applying changes to meet departmental business goals and objectives for General Permit, Capital Improvement Permitting and Transportation Engineering.
