City of Austin

The City of Austin is a progressive, full-service municipal organization operating under the Council-Manager form of government. Austin is located on the edge of the Texas Hill Country and offers a wide range of events from music concerts, food festivals, and sports competitions. Austin's climate is ideal for year-round outdoor recreational activities.

The City of Austin, Watershed Protection Department's mission is to protect lives, property, and environment in our community by reducing flood risk, restoring erosion-damaged stream channels, and protecting water quality. These safety-related goals are accomplished through programs focused on flood risk reduction, watershed management, infrastructure maintenance, stormwater pond safety, and stream restoration.
