Austin Water is currently hiring for the following positions: Engineer A, B, or C (Project Connect - Utility Relocations)

 

 

Full/Part Time: Full-Time

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Engineer A:

Education and/or Equivalent Experience: 

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.

 

Engineer B:

Education and/or Equivalent Experience:  

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years experience in engineering, acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.


Engineer C:

Education and/or Equivalent Experience: 

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in capital improvement project planning and management including working successfully with state and local governmental agencies and departments in underground utility design and construction involving major road reconstruction and relocation of water and wastewater lines along State Highways and County roads

Experience regularly interacting with different levels of personnel throughout an organization and adapting communication styles to meet the needs of internal and external customers

Strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and working with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities and collaborating effectively with other departments or units within an organization to meet business objectives

Experience with technical writing and communicating technical information to non-technical audiences

Experience in project management and sponsorship, overseeing projects related to design, construction and rehabilitation of water and wastewater lines

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering

Ability to travel to more than one work location

Pay Range: This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications:

Engineer A: $33.52 to $43.58 per hour

Engineer B: $35.53 to $46.19 per hour

Engineer C: $37.30 to $49.43 per hour
